The Château de la Fontaine, which most likely dates from the late 19th century, has a much older origin and owes its name to the presence of a spring. Recorded as far back as the Middle Ages, it was destroyed and rebuilt several times. In the 17th century, it belonged to Madame de La Place, widow of an officer of the Duke of Orléans. The following owner, the Comte de Brosses, had the old castle razed to build in 1840 the majestic residence you discover today: a large, imposing house crowned with a Mansart roof, with brick window surrounds. The 17th-century stables have been preserved, bearing witness to the history of the four feudal castles of Griselles. Around 1880, a hydraulic ram was installed on the lower grounds, based on a principle invented in 1792 by the Montgolfier brothers — the famous aeronauts — to supply the farming estate. Today, the Château joins Wedding Venues Luxury to breathe new life into its stones to the rhythm of your most beautiful days.
